Its a web-version of the familiar paper sticky note, which shows commentary from you and your Network. A note can hold pretty much any kind of web content and can be attached to one or more web pages.
- How do I write a Note?
- Click on the "New Note" button in the browser toolbar, type something into the editor, and click on the "Save" button. (See a tutorial here.)
- Who can see my Notes?
- Public notes can be seen by anyone. Private ones only by you. Restricted ones by those you choose using restrictive tags.
- How do I make a note Private just for me?
- Click on the private button in the editor when you make or edit a note.
- Where can I see notes?

- Your Private notes are visible only to you.
- People in Your Network can see your notes in their Latest Notes filmstrip, on the web, and in your own Notes page.
- Notes with a restricted tag are visible only to people in that tag.
- Public notes are visible for a time to everyone on the home page Everybody's Notes filmstrip.
- Can a note be about more than one web page?
Yes. Notes can be attached to many pages. Any (real) link in the note causes the note to "attach" to the web page referenced. Also, you can attach your own note to another web page without creating a link by clicking the "new note" button in the toolbar while the editor is open.
- What happens when I reply to a note?
- The person you're replying to gets an alert and your notes are linked. If you're responding to a blog entry, and the blog supports it, your note is "tracked back" to the blog, so the blog points to your note.
- What can I put in a note?
Almost anything that you can put in a web page! Links, text, images, or even objects like a YouTube video. You can drag and drop or cut and paste most content from web pages you're looking at, and you can add HTML code from the html mode of the editor.

The Tray
- What is the Tray?
- The Tray shows up at the lower right of your browser and shows you summaries of notes for the page you're looking at. The tray hides itself so that it doesn't always take up room, leaving only the "handle" in your browser.
- What does the Tray Handle show?
- The Handle shows how many notes there are for the page you're browsing, and can be used to slide the tray in and out, as well as to lock the tray so it will stay open on any page with notes.
- When does the Tray slide in?
If the tray is "locked" it slides into view whenever there are notes for the page you're browsing. When it's "unlocked," the tray "auto-previews", it slides into view briefly to show note summaries, then slides out again.
- Can I control the Tray Auto-Preview?
The tray will "auto-preview" only for newer notes. You control how new the notes have to be from the drop down in the Stickis button on the toolbar.
- How do I hide a note I've already seen?
If you no longer want to see a note appear in the tray, you can prevent it from showing up by "blocking it" using the button which hovers over it in the tray. Which notes are blocked is personal to you. Blocking a note doesn't affect anyone else's view of notes on the page.
- How do I get a blocked note back?
- Blocked notes for a given page can be found by using the "view blocked notes" tray menu option. Then you can use the "unblock this note" button on the note you want to bring back.
- How do I go from the Blocked Tray to the normal one?
- Use the "Back to un-blocked notes" entry in the Tray menu.
- How do I know who can see my notes?
When you write a new public note everyone can see it go by on the "Everybody's Notes" tab of the home page. Public notes are also visible in your Notes page. Your notes are only delivered to "Your Subscribers" when they browse webpages you've made notes on. You can see who your Subscribers are on the left hand side of the "Your Notes" page.
